We Interrupt This Vacation For Gustav

Well, our first hurricane evacuation and it's a doosey. We have been in Destin on vacation for the past three days and needless to say it was one worrisome vacation filled with eyes glued to the weather channel. We shortened the trip and left a day earlier than planned. We thought about extending our stay and enjoying the beach, but the kennel keeping Daisy said they were leaving and needed us to pick her up. With the contraflow starting tomorrow, we knew we couldn't get in to get her unless we shortened the vacation. (Perks of owning a pet don't ya think? I know you are laughing right now AJ and thinking the same thing!) So, long story short, we drove the 4 hrs home today and are gathering things up. Then tomorrow morning around 2am we are headed to Little Rock. I hope and pray we aren't sitting on the road for hours upon hours. I feel a little like we entered a war zone here since everyone is panicking and gas supplies are low, etc. I dread the trip with two small kids and two pets but what else can be done?? We will update you the next few days.

Bye-Bye Soccer, Hello Baseball

Last week, W finished up Soccertots. What a great program! He has had a blast with Coach Ryan. This week (Thurs) we start Lil Sluggers. It's a program similar to Soccertots but teaches the kids baseball instead. I can't wait to see what that will be like!

One thing I know T loves is music! Anytime he hears music, he starts dancing. He's a little dancing machine. I caught this little bit on video yesterday. (It's after nap time so the kids are half dressed)

Summer Fun

This week we actually had a break from the heat due to some nice breezes from Tropical Storm Eduard. (what a silly name for this storm - where's the "o" on the end??) So, we decided to take advantage of the nice day and play outside. The boys had fun and played very well together - take a look:
