Louisiana meets DC

Today some of our friends from Louisiana were in town so we decided to meet up in DC at the Air and Space Museum. We've been to the one out near Dulles by us but haven't been to the one in town (in my opinion the one near us is definitely bigger and better!) Anyway, our friends that came were old neighbors from Louisiana. Funny story about how I met Gretchen. It wasn't too long after I had moved there, a friend of mine had met her and gave me her email saying she lived in my neighborhood and had a boy W's age and another boy on the way. I emailed her, being a complete stranger, and offered to have a playdate sometime. The rest is history and she became a great friend and W and Gavin were great buds. In fact, W still has a picture of he and Gavin in a frame in his room (one that Gavin gave him when we moved). It was too cute to let these two reconnect after a year and a half. Of course it was wonderful to get to see Gretchen again! Oh and now we are both moms of 3 boys! Gretchen had her third right after we moved from LA. She knows all about how crazy and busy life is with boys!

Mother Nature is certainly confused these days. What is up with all these blooms on this tree in Feb?!?! Kinda weird to have spring PLUS huge winter coats in the same photo.
W and his bud, Gavin. W told me they were going to run and give each other a hug when they saw each other. Yeah, that didn't happen. They acted like they didn't know each other at first.

Of course, acting like they didn't know each other didn't last long. They were running around doing stuff together in no time.

Friday night, W graduated to a green stripe belt in taekwondo. Proud of this kid sticking to it and giving it his all.

Disney on Ice

Today, we had a special surprise in store for the boys. We were going into DC to see this:

I had lucked out and gotten tickets half price on a regional kid coupon site. We had great seats on the main concourse and were able to see expressions on the characters. The boys had a blast. Here they are waiting patiently for the show to start.
This kinda shows how close our seats were to the stage. Not too bad for half price!
Here's my little Mickey Mouse fan getting excited to see the show.
Mommy and her #1 fan. He wasn't too sure about the Mickey crown. This was the one souvenir we bought (it came with the $12 cotton candy!). The boys did a great job sharing because two of the three didn't care much about the crown - just the candy.
This is the one who wore the Mickey crown the entire show and LOVED some cotton candy. I think he was the most enamored by the show!
That is EXCEPT when the princess segment came on. This is the look of a 4 yr old who doesn't like princesses. Believe me - it was much uglier in person than depicted. Thank goodness they got all that princess stuff in one segment. I was staring to worry - it was toward the beginning of the show and I wasn't sure it was going to carry throughout. I, however, thought Arial was the most beautiful princess out there!

And before we knew it, the show was over and the entire cast was taking their bow. What a "magical" family outing!

House Full of Love

Doesn't this picture just fill your heart with love??? My little Valentines! We had a wonderful day filled with love and lots of activity! My #1 valentine surprised me with this beautiful orchid Valentine morning. He thought this year he would give me something that would live (hopefully) and add some color to our plain white wall town home. It's the valentine that just keeps giving! :)
To start Valentines day off on a fun note for my little guys, I made these heart shaped cinnamon rolls. Now before you think I'm all that and more (you can if you want) - I got this idea off Pinterest. Oh how I love Pinterest!! I just used the canned cinnamon rolls - not the Pillsbury kind but the generic because you actually have to be able to unroll them!
After breakfast and seeing the oldest off to school, this little guy was CAUGHT red handed eating all his valentine treats while watching some Mickey Mouse clubhouse. Their valentine gifts consisted of a book, a small box of chocolate and a bag of bear hugs with some gummy bears and teddy grahams. Well, C's only lasted 1 hour before it was gone!

Here's W's valentine for his friends. Now you know why my kiddos had mustaches on in the sweet picture above. I love 1st grade humor. THose kids got the biggest kick out of these! Yep, you guessed it - Pinterest.
W had his Valentine party at school in which I planned and conducted. I love being able to go up to the school and see him in his little environment.
Here are some of the kids having a blast with W's fake mustaches! They all laughed and peeled them off the card immediately!
And of course, I did little Valentine happy's for the teachers! Here's what I did for W's teachers. Once again - thanks Pinterest! And man, I forgot how good Starbuck frappiccinos are - haven't had one in years! But I drank 4 of these babies in one week in order to get these bottles for the gift.
Here's what we gave T's teachers. And nope - not Pinterest this time, but my favorite cooking blog - Our Best Bites. We filled them with chocolate covered pretzels.
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines day. I know I sure felt loved my by Prince charming and all my little knights!

Kid Interviews - C edition

Now, you really didn't think I would actually interview my third son, C age 2, did you? Even if I did, none of us (including me who is around him 24/7) would understand a word out of his mouth! He's getting better but he's still so behind my other boys at this stage. He has no need to speak correctly - he's got two older brothers who speak for him all the time! HA! So, even thought there are no q&a's for this kid, I have included some very cute pictures.

This is where you will find him most days - playing with his cars. He loves to lay and play.

This was taken on a very rare occasion that he got a bath without one of his brothers. I don't think he enjoyed it do you?!

Along with cars, he loves trains. I scored on this play tent at Target - clearance $8.

As exhausting as it is raising three little boys, moments like this make it all worth it.
