This week, W went to the library to collect his reward for the summer reading program. We read all his books and became a star reader. They gave him a medal and he received a certificate. So proud!

Daddy's little helper
Each summer, W looks forward to helping Daddy when it comes to mowing grass. Well, this year we have added something new - his wee-weeter (aka weedeater). He uses my water handle for the hose and follows Daddy around wee-weeting the yard. Too cute!

More from Pesselville
We just returned from our trip to Nanny and Papaw's house. The 7 hr trip in the car with they boys by myself went a lot smoother than I expected. The night before we left, Christian and Carson planned a water gun attack. Little did they know I ran around the house with the water hose and soaked them both. Brittany and W got in on the action. W was drenched but was having so much fun running around with his older cousins. Below is also a pic of T's first 4-wheeler ride. He liked it!

Locked out and no where to go
I write this to all my friends with toddlers and preschoolers - Beware of those sneaky children!
Ok, so it's about 5:00pm and the natives are getting restless. So I decide to take everyone outside and water the plants in the front yard. T is always happy to comply strapped in his little trike. W, on this particular day, was in a somewhat cranky mood and didn't want to stay outside. He kept running inside. I politely told him, with my teeth clenched together, that he needed to stay outside while mommy was outside and quit running inside. Well, just a few minutes later he declares he needed to use the potty. I said "ok, run inside, go potty, and come back out". When he comes back out he said he used the other door - still not sure what that was all about. In the meantime, S calls and says he's on his way home (that would be another hour due to commute). I started to put things up outside and gather the troops to go back inside. When suddenly, I can't get the door open. W had locked it before closing it the last time he out. URGHH!! So, we rush to the front door - nope it's locked too. I call S and tell him the situation. He says "well I don't know what we'll do seeing I don't have a key.". I was like WHAT?!?! He said "remember I don't have a copy. We've been meaning to get one but haven't had the time." He said not to worry, he would just pick the lock once he got home. Great - here we are in the hot afternoon sun with no where to go for an hour. This was one of those moments I so wished I were back in Louisville and could run over to my neighbor's house and ask for my key. As luck would have it, our neighbors were out and asked how we were. I wasn't going to lie and say fine so I proceeded to tell them the situation. They took pity on us and the wife demanded we come over and get out of the heat. W could play with her son and see his room. My first thought was "why is W getting a reward out of this?" and my second thought was "thank goodness". It actually turned out to be a great opportunity to get to know my neighbors a little bit. S got home and picked the lock instantly and all was over. It could have been a much worse situation such as supper in the oven or T locked inside while we were out. When prompted about locks, W now replies he is not to lock doors - we had a long chat about it. And we are headed to get a copy of our key asap. So, my advice to my friends - always take your keys outside with you!!
