I think the tooth fairy is a fairy that takes your teeth. I think the tooth fairy lives in a mouse hole. I think the tooth fairy has a golden wand and wings. I think the tooth fairy goes in the chimney. I think the tooth fairy uses super vision goggles. I think the tooth fairy only takes kids teeth. I think the tooth fairy turns the teeth into spy cameras.

The Big 4 1/2

T turned 4 1/2 yesterday. In preschool - that's a BIG deal.

When I told him that today was his 4 1/2 birthday, he followed with "So does that mean I get cake?" Well, who can resist that sweet question?!?! I mean, it's only fair. W gets cake on his half birthday because it's actually my birthday. So, we settled on some cupcakes for the afternoon snack once W got home from school. We invited our buddy Connor over to enjoy the goods.
Then we all headed off to a place called Rebounderz. It's so cool. It's all trampolines. They even go up onto the wall. To be honest, we didn't go just because it was T's half bday. I had bought a groupon to the place and it was expiring the next day so we HAD to go and use it. But what better excuse to do something fun and different than to celebrate a preschooler turning 4 1/2??? The boys had a BLAST!

Spring Has Sprung

Spring has come in full force and so have the allergies. When you have little boys who want to play outside all day, it doesn't fair so well on the allergies for mom. But, it's all about taking one for the team and doing it anyway right?!? Here's my 3 before church in front of the tree outside our house. We think it might be some form of a cherry blossom?? At least the blooms resemble one.

Due to the nice weather, we have done a lot outside. About mid-week I decided to take C off his naps. He was loving naps and I was having to wake him up and then he would stay up playing in his room till about 10 at night. As much as I didn't want to give them up, he seems to be doing well without them - and going to sleep much faster at night. Here he is being my helper at the grocery store. Doesn't he look like a big boy?? I think now I have made the mistake of introducing the little buggy because I'm sure he will want to help every time now...
One day we had a picnic for lunch.
Followed by water playtime outside with our neighbors.
Then C showed his bad side when he tried his best to get those jellybeans he really wanted.
W had a fun night of Laser Tag at church. The kids in Awana who have reached a certain point in their book were rewarded with a fun night. Sounds kinda funny that our church went with laser tag - I mean shooting and killing?? But the kids had a super fun time. As you can see, W took his shooting very very seriously.
And now on to my March teacher happies. I found this idea on Pinterest. It's little boxes I found at the Dollar Tree in an 8 pack near the baby shower stuff. Put some rolos inside and wrapped it up in some pretty ribbon and a label from The Crafting Chicks. It says "I'm lucky to have you as a teacher". Total cost - I think around $6 for all. The rolos were outrageously expensive at CVS coming in at $5 for the bag.

Also this week, I've managed to create another craft project. I'm super excited about these paintings to go in the boys' bathroom. I saw it on Etsy and really didn't want to pay the $85 asking price so I decided could do it. So I pulled out all the ol' painting and supplies and let my inner artist come out. W told me I was copying but I told him it still takes talent. HA!

Sock Hop 2012

Friday night was the Sock Hop at W's school. I decided this year my little dance machine, T, could go with us. Here's my two greasers:We're ready to go. W looks mad in this pic but he was actually giving his "cool" look.

Lately....

Here's what we've been up to lately....

Lots of playtime outside with these random 70 degree days.

Green eggs and ham for Dr. Seuss' birthday. Yeah - I thought the same. I skipped out on this meal myself but the kids loved it!
A spontaneous lemonade stand by the golf course. A whopping $8 was made that day. We decided to give to the missionary fund at AWANA.
W lost his second tooth - finally.
T & C had a "superhero art party". This was C's first introduction to painting. He loved every minute of it and did surprisingly well keeping it clean.

And my artwork of late - I had bought this sign a while back and wasn't sure where to put it. Then I went to a party where they make things from handprints and footprints. I didn't buy but I took pictures of ideas and did my own. All the superheros are made from my 3 little superhero's feet.

Louisiana meets DC

Today some of our friends from Louisiana were in town so we decided to meet up in DC at the Air and Space Museum. We've been to the one out near Dulles by us but haven't been to the one in town (in my opinion the one near us is definitely bigger and better!) Anyway, our friends that came were old neighbors from Louisiana. Funny story about how I met Gretchen. It wasn't too long after I had moved there, a friend of mine had met her and gave me her email saying she lived in my neighborhood and had a boy W's age and another boy on the way. I emailed her, being a complete stranger, and offered to have a playdate sometime. The rest is history and she became a great friend and W and Gavin were great buds. In fact, W still has a picture of he and Gavin in a frame in his room (one that Gavin gave him when we moved). It was too cute to let these two reconnect after a year and a half. Of course it was wonderful to get to see Gretchen again! Oh and now we are both moms of 3 boys! Gretchen had her third right after we moved from LA. She knows all about how crazy and busy life is with boys!

Mother Nature is certainly confused these days. What is up with all these blooms on this tree in Feb?!?! Kinda weird to have spring PLUS huge winter coats in the same photo.
W and his bud, Gavin. W told me they were going to run and give each other a hug when they saw each other. Yeah, that didn't happen. They acted like they didn't know each other at first.

Of course, acting like they didn't know each other didn't last long. They were running around doing stuff together in no time.

Green Stripe Belt

Friday night, W graduated to a green stripe belt in taekwondo. Proud of this kid sticking to it and giving it his all.
