A Toddler's Imagination

It's so fun to watch a 2 1/2 year old use their imagination. W has been pretending a lot lately. For weeks, he was "Fireman Sam" and our house was the firehouse and our van was the fire truck. Anything in our house that resembled a fire hose was used to put out fires. This past week, he has changed his name to Diego. Our van is now the jeep and he carries around his rescue pack (aka backpack) . He also carries around an imaginary baby jaguar who is with him at all times. His best bud, Elle, is now known as Dora. The funny part is these two are pale-skinned blondes and look nothing like the Nickoledeon duo.

Today was a day of firsts for the boys. We went to Kroger and T sat in the buggy like a big boy and W got to push the little tot cart around. I was a little skeptical that my little boy would stay with me and thought he would run through the aisles like a wild toddler. However, he proved me wrong and was the perfect little boy. He thought he was big stuff as Mommy's little helper. Of course, we had multiple conversations about it before we even went into the store. Wish I could have taken a picture....he did great and looked so cute. T did good as well and seemed to be in awe of all the things he could see sitting up in the buggy. Must have worn him out b/c he came home and slept a good while.

I also was able to get W enrolled in school for the fall. The FBC of Mandeville had an opening in W's age group. I am so excited and so is W. He will go MWF from 9-1. It's exciting yet sad to see your little boy grown up enough to go to school. The obstacle?? Potty training. He must be fully potty-trained by fall. Hopefully we can get there. He wants to go to school so maybe this will be motivation. Let's hope!
