The Gift of Friendship

Yesterday we had a little fun after we went to the $1 Kids movie at the movie theatre.  Thanks to a friend of mine, the boys were able to go to Target on a little spending spree.  They each received a $5 giftcard in the mail from my gal pal.   This fun afternoon consisted of a cool Icee, a frappacinno for mommy, and an hour and a half of roaming Target to find the perfect "happy".  Fun afternoon!
You see, this friend of mine is very special.  God blessed me tremendously with Angeline Johnson.  Though we haven't seen each other in FIVE years, we are the closest of friends.  We chat everyday practically (though we reserve weekends for our husbands - ha!)  She and I both met in Louisville.  We knew each other the whole six years I lived there but we became closer friends the last 3.  God was molding a very special friendship to last years to come.  This picture is the last time I actually saw Angeline in person - my farewell dinner.  She's on the far left.  Boy, this picture seems like ages ago.
Soon after I moved from Louisville, Angeline found out her husband was getting transferred.  We phoned everyday after she moved because we were the only ones who truly understood what it was like to leave all our close friends behind and start all over again in a new city.  Since that move, we have both moved 2 more times each and had our third child all within the past 5 years.  We've been each others' support group.  We have shed tears, laughed a ton, given advice and reminded each other of things we knew but had forgotten.  (Like, never worry about the details - God has it all worked out. ) Through each move we have had highs and lows but we have always known each other was just a phone call away with a listening ear ready.  Though our friendship is unconventional we have made it work and formed a very unique relationship.  Yep, God really gave me a special friendship!

Now after five years, we are about to see each other in person again!  Angeline's husband has a conference here in Las Vegas at the end of Sept and her mom has generously volunteered to fly out and watch her kids while she comes with him.  I CAN'T WAIT!
