Memorial Day weekend, we went to a wetlands park here east of the city. It's near Lake Mead. Apparently here they take sewage water and refine it, clean it up and pump it into Lake Mead. Lake Mead is the water resource for Las Vegas and the surrounding area. So if you think about it, we drink people's sewage. HA! Ok, trying not to think about that. So Clark County decided to make a wetlands park surrounding the spillway. It was a really neat park and they have all kinds of animals that live in a wetlands environment. The path around the park takes you to the spillway with trails going through cattails and little ponds. Great free park.
Inside the visitor center, they had a great hands out learning center for kids. C found a new friend in a tunnel.
This certainly doesn't' look like we are in the desert anymore!
Our little navigators on the hike....
