Pinewood Derby, Awards and Camping

The older two boys had their first Cub Scout Pinewood Derby race.  We had done races before in AWANA so we knew the drill - this wasn't our first race.  Boys decided what they wanted their cars to be and S got to work.  He cut the cars and the boys and I got to work on the artistry.  They designed and painted the bulk.  I painted the details on.  W had the dragon car and T had Capt America of course!  It think they turned out awesome.
W won 2nd fastest car in his age division.
T's den won FASTEST den.  Which means his entire group as a whole averaged faster than any other den.  We love this group of kiddos!
T also won a few awards.  He won "Most patriotic" car.  It's Capt America people - how much more patriotic can we get!  (We didn't even know that category existed to be honest).  He also won 3rd fastest car in his age group.
The boys also received awards at the last pack meeting.  T's group finished their Tiger badge requirements so they got to go through the Tiger badge ceremony.  They draw certain symbols on their face during the ceremony.
W was awarded some belt loops that he earned on his own.  He received the Maps and Compass belt loop, Geography, Geology and Pet Care (we have a beta fish)
In March the pack went camping.  S took the boys and they spent the night while C and I enjoyed some quiet time in my nice comfy house.  The boys had a blast and S said they kept them going the whole time - never resting.  Needless to say he was pooped afterward.
Here's a neat picture that was taken and edited by someone in the pack.  This is the entire group that was at the campout.
